Waxing lyrical about something is one thing, actualy putting it into practice is quite another.

Besides by the looks of things the last backup was quite a while ago, if i was to apply the technique here it would take centuries to get any kind of penetration into the backup system... or lack thereof :D

Besides, everyone in here is pretty cool, its almost impossable to get angry at anyone.
Im the guy who gets fingered at parties when things go missing, not because i actualy took anything but i feel guilty all the same and it visibly shows, i dont have the fortitude of concience to actualy commit any major crime, im too neurotic to pull off anything underhanded.

I agree with the first part mostly and the second wholeheartedly. Bottling up anger is the worst thing you could do, for yourself and those around you. There was a shooting here in 2000 we call the "xerox shooting". Brian Uesugi walked into work and shot 7 of his coworkers. Bottled anger.
Anger is an indicator of something that we need to deal with, be it internal or external. I do believe that anger that you can't control is no good at all.

I'm not sure I've got anything to add that hasn't been said, but yeah, people get angry when something doesn't work the way they want it to, the adrenalin that's released can be used for good or for bad, but in any case covering up the frustration without dealing with it in a meaningful way can be pretty bad ending.
Certainly rational decisions are the best but if your body needs a rush of adrenaline to keep your brain functioning in its rational state, I guess you can get angry as an alternative to another stimulant, or sleep.

As far as sue's comment on marriages, what i've seen is that it's not how often people argue, but how they do it, that is the strongest indicator whether the marriage will survive or not. The people with good marriages argue just as often as those with bad ones, but the difference is that the good couples do it in a mature and sensible way, when they listen to the other person and try to find an accommodation to the situation not tear them down. If I remember that was a study over many decades and periodically interviewing couples and monitoring their conversations and the stress level during those. They also played some recordings - it was quite interesting. If somebody is curious I can probably dig out the link.

As far as stress being a major contribution to people's health and death, it seems to be the case. It's kind of a trade off though. 300 years ago people may have been less stressed, but then they were dying of common infections. But of course everybody decides how they like to live their life and what level of stress is acceptable to them.

Rage is blinding. Anger can be healthy as long as it doesn't control me. Today I was almost hit by a car ... AGAIN!!! as I was crossing the street quite legally with my pregnant wife beside me. Normally I am quite calm about such things, look the driver dead in the eye and tell them what it is they need to do next time and point out the consequences of ignoring that. Especially as a cyclist, the last thing I need is for another motorist to get his/her self righteousness up and concoct another reason hate cyclists and drive irrationally because I yelled at them. Today was different. I'm sure it was because my wife was right with me and could easily have been hurt or worse, lost the baby because he wasn't looking where he was going and almost ran us over. I admit I saw red and lost it pounding on his hood. :rant: :mad: :rant: He clearly shrank and tried to apologise, but I wouldn't hear it today and told him that sorry wasn't good enough in so many :cen words.

When you are trying make a right turn and you are looking left to see a break in the traffic, BEFORE you take your foot off the brake look right to ensure that there are no children or pregnant ladies you might injure or kill out of negligence in your haste. For the sake of all children, born and unborn, I beg you to take that extra look.
