Okay,
This may have already been posted but I am going to try again. What type of pet do you have? I have a West Highland White Terrier (Westie). Her name is Piper and she was born in Nov. of 2007. She is a handful as most terriers are.

I have two dogs: a one year old Leavitt Bulldog, Molly, and an eight year old Chinese Shar-Pei, Gunner. I took the picture below of my wife and the dogs shortly after sunrise this past New Year's day on the northern California coast.

Here is my dog and currently only 'pet'. He is a German Wirehaired Pointer and we used to do call outs (in the Scottish lowlands then Highlands once I moved) before my wee girl was born two years ago. It just takes up too much of your life to do it right. I really enjoyed the whole experience though - particularly those great days when dog and handler worked as one! I miss the training and social with the rest of the team.
I also bred endangered boas and pythons for a decade and ended up writing a book on emerald tree boas and green tree pythons - it hasn't made me my fortune. Signed copies available! I have kept way too many animals in my time. Looking forward to buying my girl a corn snake for her fifth b'day - agreed with her mum (OK it's really for me)!
Cheers
Stephen
I've got two dogs - Mable and Millicent. Mable is a Husky X Border Collie and Milli is a Papillon X Foxy.
We've had Mable from a 6 week old pup. Milli is a recent addition from my inlaws. I've only got photos of Mable on me at the moment, but will post Milli shots when I get home from work.

This is my dog Rusty! By far the smartest dog I have ever known with maybe the exception of Otto Von Averystein, A dog who was a large percentage of wolf that my father owned when I was a boy!
Mark --- How's Rusty been handling the coyotes?
Justin
By the way Makar, that's a hell of a photo.

2 sugar gliders. you can only see one in this picture, the other one is still asleep in the pouch.
if you don't know what a sugar glider is, they are small shark/badger hybrids that can fly and destroy the souls of men.
This is my wife with our two rescues. Suzy and Binky.
allways wanted a sugarglidder but have hear that they are hard to raise and kinda fragile. have you had any issues?
Two dogs:
A German Shepherd (Sasha) & a Border Collie (Jake)
Two cats:
Romo & Alice (who is so new we don't have a picture of her yet). This is Romo's kitten picture.... about 15 pounds ago.
Rusty's services haven't been necessary since I started locking the goats and chickens in at night!
:OTI would like to ask what the average top speed for a medium size dog is, say 60 to 65 lbs. I have clocked Rusty's top speed at 40 miles per hour! Is this normal?
everyone on my little dirt road likes to race Rusty in their cars and they all tell me that Rusty beats them to the end of the three acres every time! they also tell me that due to the road they wont go any faster than 35 mph!
It was a good day that - I remember it well. I am holding the toy - the photo was taken by one of our 'dogsbodies' as they are called. Every SAR team needs a pool of volunteers who lay down on the hill in bivi bags quietly and wait to be found. The reward for finding a body, and bringing the 'master' to it, is a big play with 'daddy' - no food is ever used as this could have consequences if an injured body has a stash with them. That weekend was one of those when he just responded to every command whistled from a couple hundred yards - lovely.
Dobermans.
Indeed! So if you'd like to help a SAR team and want to lie alone a few hours in cold and rain, only to be found by a dog, don't hesitate. We love our volunteers and we depend on them! Actually, it's not as bad as it seems, we take good care of our volunteers... make them tea and feed them :p And they recieve our eternal gratitude!
Isn't it lovely when everything just works!
sort of. they are marsupials, more like flying 'possums than squirrels.
not really fragile, so much as just cranky. i hear some folks get theirs to behave a lot better, but i haven't had much luck. the girl is very nice and will crawl in your pocket or sit on top of your head and chatter, but the boy just crabs and bites. (crabbing is the noise gliders make when they are angry, it is disturbingly loud for such a small thing)
Here is Cocoa and Milo
Milo is light and Cocoa is a deeeeep brown.I brought Milo into Cocoa's world about two months ago. I see progress with how they relate. I was worried that Cocoa wouldn't take to having another cat in her domain.
Here's Milo the young male ~ 5 month

I wish we had done this thread during the summer that way I could have shown you pics of the best dog I ever owned a huge Alaskan Malamute named "Mr Mojo Rising" unfortunately we lost him this summer...
He was MY dog and these are OUR dogs... The 100 mph dogs as we call them they are Japanese Shiba Inu's, they are about 25 lbs each, and stand around 18 inches at the shoulder, and are little hunting jets... pretty much will kill anything that moves in their yard, or in the house.... The black and tan is a female named Coco Channel "CC" and the sesame colored male is Versace' (yes the wife named them) we also have 2 barn cats named Morris and Checkers (these are almost wild) that are the mousers around the place....

Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier Mei (pronounces May, it is chinese) currently 12 weeks old
Quaker Parrot Kino... Love to harrass the pup and is an attention hog.
We have an Australian Shepard we got from the Aussie Rescue group.
She is approx 5-yrs old... her name is Hooper
.
We were in the Delta Society and visited hospitals, nursing home and did special events. She loved babies and the peds clinic at the local Army med center would call us when they were doing well baby shot days. When the wailing babies saw Aussie that's all it took. She had just had some magic that connected them.
I have an English Pointer called Ben, he is almost two years old (April 20) and my first dog.
My Labs.....this was almost a year ago but I don't have a newer pic with me. Dargo is 5 now and Jothee is about 1 1/2......two of the nicest dogs I've ever known.
