    Default Loss of Greatness

    Legendary blues guitarist and jazz trumpet player Jeff Healey died from cancer yesterday. I had the good fortune to see him play an impromptu live session in Toronto at the intimate Reservoir Lounge a few years back as well as listen to his radio show on Jazz FM several times and I can assure you that the world has lost an individual with an encyclopedic knowledge of early 20th century jazz recordings. His last album is due out next month. Here, the sky is crying today.
