    Default New Job!

So, after being told in November that my contract was not being renewed due to budgeting issues...and after pounding the virtual pavement since then, by God's good grace I started a new job on Thursday as a project manager with a firm here in Denver.

It is a company that provides systems to State governments for managing child protective services, children's insurance, etc. It is contract-to-hire, so I hope I do well enough for them to hire me as an employee after 90 days!

My thanks to all here who offered words of encouragement....it was the first time I had been unemployed since the early '90's....very scary. I can't imagine the stress if I had a wife and kids.

    Lessons learned:

Don't stop looking for positions, even if there is a "sure thing" on the horizon.
Make sure you have 3-4 months of living expenses in savings (cancelling the holidays helped out too)
    Keep praying...hard.

I'm glad it all worked out. Once they do hire you permenently, you may want to consider a celebratory custom

Yeah, you need to control that RAD and protect yourself from the barrage of types of steel, sizes, grinds, points and a myriad of scale materials like exotic woods, horns and bones, finished in every possible way. It's hard to resist a 9/8" maple burl scaled Joe Chandler French point, a 7/8" Livi Damascus spike with 1pc olivewood scales or an 8/8" stag-horn scaled Williams Spanyard, but I'm sure you can do it
