Thanked: 1587Video Size
All you guys who've made videos and put them on the web - how large were they?
I've just had my Sony digital8 back from repair and made a very quick and nasty video of me shaving my head. It's 6 minutes long (roughly) and the best part of 200Mb in size!
I've got something called Pixela that came with the camcorder, and it lets you edit etc the video. But the only format it lets me save into is MPEG-1. Would being able to convert it into another format like WMV make it's size smaller? Or is there something I should have done on the camcorder? Or is 200Mb nothing to worry about?
Thanks for any help.

Thanked: 1587Sorry - scratch the above. Just managed to get it down to about 1/10th the size using Microsoft Movie Maker.

You'll probably lose a lot of quality that way. I tend to use Divx Coders to make my video's smaller. It retains a lot of the video quality that way. Looking forward to your little project though.

Thanked: 1587I think you're right Alex - it does seem to have lost a little in the quality stakes, but it's up now. If it's too rubbishy I'll take it down and see if I can't put up the big one.
