Thanked: 1cohiba esplendidos advice
hey guys, Im turning 18 in just under 2 months and iam asking my dad to buy me a box of cohiba esplendidos, however were not a filthy rich family so I cant afford to pay the full ammount for them, in the Uk they sell for over 600 pounds (or 1200 dollars) however if I got them from my cuban cigar I think theyd b around 250 pounds, still a little high, So i wondered if any competant cigar smokers could tell me if this looks ok

I know full well that the esplendidos is the most counterfeited cigar out of them all so i wanted some advice before I did anything stupid lol, I chose that auction because its cheap AND they accept paypal, which is alot better for me as Its international, sometimes you can smell a con a mile off on ebay, usually when they only accept bank transfers and not paypal. Thats pretty much it, i hope to hear some good replies, I really want to get some before my 18th so i got summat to look forward to unwrapping lol

Thanked: 369What you see online and what you actually get are two different things.
I didn't see a seller's return policy nor guarantee of satisfaction.
Communicate with the seller.

Thanked: 23Do you know?
Do you know anyone acually visiting Cuba in the next couple years? You can buy even Cohibas there very, very cheaply. To buy my prefered Cohibas here in Canada can run in excess of nine hundred dollars a box, it's damn near cheaper to fly to Cuba and buy them. :P
I'd avoid online purchases on e-bay for something like cigars. You don't know how they've been stored, even if they are real cohibas. I'll tell you what, though, if anyone I know goes to Cuba, I'll send you a couple when they get back and give me my box.
I'll tell you this, though, if you actually do get to lay hands on them and are a big cigar fan, it's an awfully nice treat. Hell, IIRC Cohiba is the brand Fidel himself smokes.
Oh, and p.s. if you're a cigar fan, and looking to save money, try tasting some Nicuraguan (I really doubt I spelled that correctly) and to a lesser extent Honduran cigars. They're much cheaper than Cubans of similar quality, hell, it takes a pretty low quality Cuban to match them in price and some of them are really enjoyable smokes.

You can even get suckered into buying counterfeit Cubans in Havana. I'd stay away from these.
