there's a .45 1911 on my bedstand and a 12ga pumpgun not far away every night when I go to sleep.

you really just can't beat an all steel government-sized 1911 in .45 acp. (some of the alloy framed ones have serious reliability issues, I can't recommend them) my personal advice is don't waste your money on combat tupperware, go get some American steel!

(yeah, I'm hugely biased. but in all the years I've shot ipsc, idpa, idsa, 3-gun, etc. the winner is almost always carrying a 1911 of some sort.)
