Thanked: 4I've been at B&B for over a year now, SRP a bit less time, and owe both boards a debt of gratitude. That said, it seems that at B&B the signal:noise ratio seems to be dropping, and I'm nearly back to lurking there.
And God help you if you compare their beloved cologne purveyors to the more mass-market products.

Thanked: 4I just want to chime in real quick to say that I'm glad the decision was made to let this thread play out. It has been enlightening for me, as I'm sure its been for others. And as others have said, the fact that discussions like these can be had here without devolving into pettiness and name calling is one of the reasons I enjoy SRP. The "riding the wave" analogy that someone made was spot-on.
Just one more thing...this place is full of superlative individuals who give superlative advice on straight shaving, and I want to thank you all for helping me achieve superlative results.

Thanked: 416Guys twice now Don has asked for this to end and to let this topic go. I am asking the same now nothing will be accomplished by making more issues. Also nothing will be accomplished by having to lock the thread so lets show that we are the adults that we claim and let the topic end.

I need to clarify a bit by the way. I never said that Joel wasn't justified in critisicm. I'm sure he has his reasons for not being happy with something he spent (in my book) a lot of money on. I just didn't like the way he was badmouthing people.
That being said. I'm sure there was more to the story than I've seen. I'm sure there are e-mail exchanges and PM's that have been flying left and right that make SURE that I don't know half of what really took place.
Otis. You were right. But the manner in which you were adressing people was the same type of stone throwing that you were (rightfully) accusing people of.
Let's bury this gentlemen.

Forgive me for taking your post personal, but my biggest mistake was stepping into a s**t storm I knew nothing about, and when things didn't hold true to me I stuck my head up and said hold on.
I was met with nothing but hostility from the owner of that forum, and for reasons I was unaware of, or were out of my control.
Yes I fought back(in the straight vs DE thread), I told him he was negative and unhelpful, and if he couldn't be constructive he should leave.
and YES I told him to go shave his legs with his DE. So what?
Being a gentleman doesn't mean you have to bend over and take crap from every fool and drunk out there. It means you accept what you can for what it is, and you deal with the remainder.
No man should be expected to take abuse with impunity especially when it is dished out with such malintent.
I am finished with this, i have said my peace, and it is time to move on.
My appologies to Don, Doc, and Lynn for continuing this thread, but sometimes the waters need to be cleared before we can ride the next wave.
