Well--I've never been involved with B & B--I'll just say all of this does make me glad I found this place first.
Drama and straight razors don't mix, seems to me.

I have to emphatically agree. When considering and then ordering my straight, Robert was nothing short of a gentleman in the exact sense of the word. Moerover, I find it extremely offensive that one such as Joel, known for his tantrums and abuse, can tarnish an othewise unsullied reputation.

When default font sizes are too small, hold down CTRL and roll your mouse wheel. it helps.

Thanked: 351In my version of Firefox, it's
+ or - to adjust the font size. And simply hit the + key or - key in Opera. I don't use windows so I have no idea about Internet Explorer but I'm assuming that's what Erick was referring to.
As for SMF, it's where I started out with wetshaving. Very nice forum, some of them stop by here on a regular basis like myself. They have a small straight razor group there so there is one forum dedicated to that topic. I've often mentioned SRP in posts there for those looking for razors and whatnot rather than send them to the wolves on Ebay. I also see several SRP members dropping by SMF and help answering questions on Straights which is appreciated. It's a great source of information for soaps, creams, aftershaves and last but not least, shaving brushes... if it's made, someone on SMF has at least tried it if they don't actually own the darn thing. We struggle with RAD and HAD but some of those gents have SBAD to a major degree!
Regards

Thanked: 4It seems to me that B&B used to be a lot like SMF, only bigger. SMF still retains the original genteel aspect, whereas B&B headed off on it's own direction. FWIW, I just received a rather interesting and pointed PM from one of the B&B mods, but I won't go into that right now.

I too am among the many who found B&B first then made my way to SRP. Not having had personal contact with Joel or having been able to read the thread that we are discussing I can only comment on my experience at B&B; which has been incredibly positive. Without B&B I would have never progressed in my wetshaving, and probably have never started using straights - as I began with DE's (my gateway drug ). I can say, that B&B doesn't have the same tone currently as when I first joined over a year ago, and that is a shame because then B&B was inclusive (like SRP is), but it does seem to have taken on an air of exclusivity and I have difficulty finding threads to be a part of anymore on a regular basis. Which means that I will just be spending more time here.
No big realization, just a comment. Thanks for listening...
