Well actually, I understood "extra" as being too many, left over, unnecessary and I couldn't understand how that could happen. To paraphrase a famous commercial, "A virgin is a terrible thing to waste".

I always thought that it was for redundancy purposes, you know in case the first one didn't work out.

Mike, it seems like you are not the only one who got in trouble on B&B for speaking your mind. Read and digest this thread: Just ordered a Mastro Livi - Badger & Blade

I responded that This was the straight razor section of a shaving forum, and that I'm here to help members learn to use a straight.

I also advised Joel that he was being unhelpful, and overly negative.
That it was understandable that the member was having trouble with a DE , and if he didn't want to provide assistance and encouragement he should go play with his DE new leg shaver...

Obviously B&B has no sense of humor.

Sorry chaps, but I have only read Mike's initial post.
The response he got beggars belief!

I thought the tone of some of the comments were petulant and hoped they were a one off......WRONG!

Take a look at my post from yesterday re my Mastro Livi. I just don't believe the way a mod is behaving!!!

    ^ You're not wrong.

I think in future I'll keep everything to do with str8s here.

There seems to be more constructive advice on the subject and when crticism is warranted it seems to be more professional and less personal. (No offence to any members who do frequent both forums)

    I love SRP.

Somehow I am not surprised one bit by negative responses you got. This kind of petulant behavior has happened time and again, for reasons other than being objective about a product.

Honestly if I were you I would pay no heed to those negative opinions (they have no credibility).

On a positive note congrats on the purchase do post a review and some pictures.

It is unlikely that Joel as the owner of that group will be banning himself for his behavior, so we really need to take the high road and show the straight razor population that we are gentlemen over here.

I really appreciate you help on this.

I'll throw this one up again. We still believe that all the forums have a common purpose and that we should all get along. Unfortunately as noted there is not much credibility coming from the person who continues to provide the negativity over there. One minute he is a "Maestroholic" then not, then Robert is the best, then not, then Joe is the best and then not......and so on. If anyone else over there utilized the same tactics, they would be banned and their post deleted immediately by this person. I have always found that people who thrive on this kind of hatred are their own worse enemies and eventually others recognize it. We will remain on the high road and let this kind of stuff pass.

    Thanks guys,

    Lynn

It has often been my delight and sometimes my shock that the gentlemen here can disagree on very forceful yet friendly terms. It's a reason I keep coming back which may be to the consternation of some but is certainly to the betterment of myself. I also love to watch the new members show up with all the passion and wonder that I recall having myself just 3 years ago, and I know they will get good treatment at the hands of my comrades here, even when we don't always agree on the best steel or what makes an attractive set of scales, etc. Everyone is permitted their opinion and every n00b is encouraged to form their own.

    Thank-you gentlemen all,

    X
