Thread: Banned from Badger and Blade

I also started on B&B a couple months before I joined SRP. I quit reading it a few months ago because I became very tired of Joel and his disciples. The site seems to exist so that Joel can convince the world of the truth of his opinions, rather than to exchange ideas and learn from others' experiences.

Thanked: 1587It's hard to believe that there are forums out there that will impose lifetime bans for a disagreement that happened during a debate. It makes me appreciate SRP all the more - we can have some real stand up battles sometimes, but when it's over we dust ourselves off, shake hands, and walk away if not friends, then at least with a better appreciation of each other's views. No hard feelings and each party better informed than they were before. I put it down to our mods and admin, and to the individual characters of our members.
I am sorry to hear this happened to you Mike - but from what I can see their loss is our gain

I think it is because you spelled "mind" wrong.

Thanked: 13247Dual Memberships
I know for a fact that many of us have dual memberships Myself included...
In fact I think my membership at B&B was 3 days before this one...
I still try and post over there, especially if I think it might be a good one ie: the "Tumbler Method" but I have noticed that we are not as well received over there as we (straight shavers) once were...In fact if one of the Mods over there had not jumped in quickly I probably would have been banned for linking the tumbler thread to SRP.... I totally believe that we should still try and promote straight shaving anywhere we possibly can....
That being said I am glad we have a true home forum, right here, where the name pretty much says it all for us.... Straight Razor Place.....

Wow... I don't have much more to say than that. And I was disappointed with the RW thread by the way. Robert was called "a stone cold liar and a poor craftsman." Frankly, that crossed the line in my mind. I will continue to be a member over there (as long as this post or any of my others don't get me banned) but will take opinions and advice with a grain of salt.
It's funny, I hardly ever go to the straight section on B&B... I go to the soaps/creams/brushes/colognes sections because they are more complete there than here. If I want to know anything about straights or need straight razor advice I always come here first. I love SRP

Mike you are correct... It started with the RW thread and since then they were looking for an excuse to ban you.
Mentioning SRP there really pisses off the owner of B&B.
I am sure folks are aware of how Lynn tried to extend friendly gesture at B&B of how forums should cooperate, no need to go any further, but needless to say what happened was a shameful
This has been my go to forum since I moved to str8s. I am sick and tired of the garbage that has been spewed out by B&B lately.

Thanked: 953They gave you four points? What does it take to get five points? two points? Holy moly that's obsessive. If you get 10 points do you get a gift certificate for Applebees?
And "ungentlemanly behavior" - so I take it Joel calling RW a stone cold liar and is gentlemanly? Has he been banned? And Joel's nonstop abusive emails to those that dare to disagree with him are gentlemanly? Very sillly and very sad. I noted my dissent to his antices was deleted immediately. Which is fine, I'm done there.
Glad I've found SMF and SRP [Lynn, don't ban me for mentioning SMF please, I just got started here!]
