I have difficulty with the whole idea of promoting straight razor shaving, I just don't think it's suitable for the vast majority of the population. I may be wrong about that but if I'm not, wouldn't it be irresponsible to encourage people to try straights indescriminately.

This site is a bit different in that anybody who gets this far has pretty much already demonstrated a more than casual interest, but many readers on B&B will have never thought about using a straight and I wonder if Joel isn't right (in this if nothing else) to avoid excessive promotion of them on that forum.

Not that I'm condoning (or necessarily condemning) Joel in any other regard.

Blackbeard, I own a Livi regrind (one of the few Lynn has offered in the BST forum) and she is my number one razor. You will be happy with the purchase, and I personally feel it is worth the asking price.

They have plenty of straight razor shavers over there and if that was the reason which it is not I would agree with you

    Gentlemen,

Just a quick update on my thread over at B&B.

Joel has posted a public retraction of his original post stating that he had been rude and ungentlemanly.

The guy has even offered to hone my new razor for me.

Hopefully things are now going to improve and perhaps we can all live in harmony.

Default One more for the sin bin

Add me to the list of people banned from B&B. Interesting that one mod sent me a pm to welcome me back after my post and another one (nope, no prizes) closed the door and told me to never come back. I'm hoping that, after a few months of therapy, I'll be okay again.

    Cheers

    Jeremy
