Hey X, I was wondering when you were going to pop up. It's good to see you out and about!
Thank you for those links, but I am sure the audience here at SRP are bright enough to make up their own minds!

So you've resorted to trolling for me now?

I look forward to seeing it. Without getting into nitpicking of the movie, the main question I would like answered is why are creationists so ostracized? It's interesting the looks one will get when talking about intelligent design. Come to think of it, it's a lot like the look people give when you tell them you shave with a straight. The look says "What a backwards freak." I imagine it is the same as when people "knew" the earth was flat and a few people said it was round.

Amendment 1.2- Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances- unless of course we don't like what you're saying, then you can pack up, kiss your career goodbye, and go home.

I love the double standards of academia. Free your mind, think outside the box, question everything. Only, don't let your mind get out of our yard, stay inside the accepted box, and don't question what your professors say.

These are some of my favorite double standards also!

I don't think you are with the program yet. You are supposed to free your mind, think outside the box, and question everything. Only when you have accomplished all those things will you actually be in a true state of enlightenment and see everything the way the professor does.

Please continue to seek the true meaning of life, my son.

    A college professor,
    Lou

While my personal beliefs don't exclude God creating the universe and giving it the occasional tweak, if you're religious enough to believe in creationism or intelligent design, you'll either take your kids to Sunday school to learn that or you'll teach'em yourself. There are also religious schools that cover the topics quite extensively. Unless we're living in a theocracy, religion should be kept from public schools with the following exceptions:
    1) Non-denominational prayer rooms
    2) Elective courses
People who take the Bible too litarally forget that it was compiled about 1700 years ago. Since then we've had numerous quantum leaps in every scientific field. Ultimately, the purpose of science is to learn about our environment, whether you believe it was created by God or not. If it gets discovered that the Earth is more than 6000 years old, that doesn't mean that we should disregard either our scientific findings or the teachings of the Bible.
