Thanked: 1Any Magic players out there?
Hai Guys!
Kinda random thought that I had. Just curious to see if anyone on the forum plays Magic:The Gathering. Don't know exactly why I'm asking, just thought it might be interesting to know!

Thanked: 1Nope, ran out of mana back in 9th grade...
But I wish I had actually been able to sell my cards as my friends and I always claimed...instead they may be in a box.binder somewhere, gathering dust.

I used to. It was a bit of social thing in highschool. And most of my friends played as well.
Used to have a mean 5 colour sliver deck.
Then I turned it into an ultimate direct damage sliver queen combo deck.
Give me around 5 turns undisturbed and I'll wipe anyone off the table.
Saying that though I haven't played in around 8 years and I sold most of my cards. Still have that combo deck though.

I used to play. Still got a bunch of cards I'm willing to sell. Want the list?

I used to play magic about 12 years ago. I probably have over two-thousand cards in a box in my garage, along with my pong collection.

About ten years ago.
I had a white angel/protection deck that could run anyone else out of cards, and a green black weenie deck that overwhelmed the oppositin, if it got off to a decent start.
I quit when the expansion packs started to include to many new abilities. It seemed like playability took back seat to selling more cards, that made me quit.
I gave all my cards to a friend as a wedding present as he and his wife met and got to know each other over the card table.

Thanked: 1Seems like a bit of group.
You know Wild Tim, that is one main reason I've quit the game as many times as I have. Unfortunately(for my bank account), I keep coming back. I have found that I really enjoy the process that goes into building and tweeking a Magic deck. It puts me into a completely different frame of mind.
And Mike7120, I'm quite curious about this Pong collection. Is that a box full of the same Pong game?

Thanked: 0I played back in the day, with just a few close friends. I thought I was doing ok with my plague deck, until I went to the local college campus and watched a few guys play there. That was it, I was done. No WAY could I compete against the cards those guys had.
A few years after that, I got into L5R. I am considering getting back into that, actually, if I can find folks to play with close to me. Dang it.
