The Movie Sommersby from 1993
I was just watching the movie Sommersby which stars Richard Gere and Jodie Foster. At one point in the movie, Jodie is giving Richard a straight razor shave. Only problem is that she is taking the first pass mostly against the grain on his face. Hurt me to watch!!!

Watch the rerun episodes of Everyone Loves Raymond where the dad (Peter Boyle)gets shaves sitting straight up in the barber chair. OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!

Yeah, I remember watching Sommersby a while back and seeing the shaving scene with new eyes.
I was actually pretty impressed with the way she was handling the razor. She seemed to know what she was doing, more or less.

Yeah, ole Richard Gere. The last thing you want to do when a woman is shaving you with a straight is to start letting your hands cruise up and down her body!
