Or rather, a Euro saved is a Euro earned.

I am normally not one to talk about money in public (it's a Belgian thing) but I figured in this case I'd make an exception because it might be a good tip for eveybody out here wanting to buy a high end custom, but not being able to afford one.

For the last 6 or 7 years (since the introduction of the euro), I've been saving up every 1 and 2 euro piece that ended up in my wallet.
All those coins ended up in one of those metal boxes that whisky bottles often come in.

Today, that box was completely full, so me and my wife counted them.
Let's just say that is was more than enough to buy:

And still have change left.

So if you find yourself longing for something like that, empty the smallchange from your wallet every week, and try to hang on to every dollar, pound or euro coin you get, and fill up a whisky bottle gift box or something similar. When it is full, you'll have all the money you need. It will take several years, but slowly but surely, you'll get there.

In our case, we are not going to spend it on that.
A significant chunk of change will be spent on our next shopping trip for Malt Whisky.
Then I will also buy some more stuff to help me restore / make razors.
And the rest will probably be spent when we have to replace something in the house, like the microwave, TV or something else.

the point is, since that money is outside of the normal household budget constraints, the household constraints do not need to apply.
