An early fathers day!
Over the year and a half that I have been a member here I have told a few stories about my father that are on the brink of unbelievable in this modern day! Just to mention a few of his odd and diverse accomplishments:
He rode with the Hells Angels, He was kicked out of the state of Washington in his younger days, as wild as he was, he actually completed his enlistment without getting kicked out, he graduated college, he has owned an auto shop and a bar or two, directed theatre and wrote many plays, and all this interspersed with running off into the wilderness and living off the land!
He breaks and trains horses these days at the ripe old age of 67! I don't think that he has mellowed too much over the years, but he does appear to be a little more settled.
The following pictures are from 2006 with me and my father in front of his horse barn after not seeing each other for about 15 years! Happy Fathers day Dad!
Please feel free to post pictures and stories of your father if you feel so inclined.Last edited by JMS; 06-07-2008 at 08:56 PM.

Come on Brendon, you got a pappa don't you? I believe the rest of you have fathers also.
Wouldn't this be a nice way to honor your father, I mean posting a picture or two and telling us something of the man who helped to make you who you are!
Lets hear some stories and see some pictures guys, as I know I am not the only man here who has a father!

Well, rather than talk about my biological father I'll talk about Popeye, my grandfather who was my dad as I grew up. (I was due on his birthday, but was born 3 hours too early to get the honor of sharing it with him.)
He still holds the record for the pole climb and one handed pullups at his high school.
During WWII he was an airplane mechanic stationed out of Victorville, CA... and he hated that. He was constantly petitioning to be sent to the front, when they asked him to re-up he was stationed on the east coast and had had one foot in a boat and one on land for about 3 months. He said "If you guarantee I'll be on a boat on my over in less than a month I'll stay." They didn't and he didn't.
He was a lifelong employee of the Los Angeles Times, and 15 years after retirement employees of the times still recognized him when he came to my plays. They all spoke well of him, he never remembered them, he just did the hiring.
And that's my dad. Love you Popeye!
Edit: Pic to follow later.
