    Default Pompeii

Well, on Fathers Day I am going to indulge in one of my other interests, ancient history!
The museum in Balboa park, in the heart of San Diego is exhibiting Pompeii !
Here is a link: SDNHM: A Day in Pompeii, 2008 Exhibition
Needless to say I am excited!

I'm sure you will find it fascinating ... enough to want to visit the actual Pompeii and another excavated city nearby Herculaneum. I visited in 1976 and they are full of small details that reveal the people's unique attitude towards life. The thing I remember most was the bathroom of a house where the owners had placed a plaque with a Latin inscription that said, "On this site, Senator so-and-so had a good sh*t".

Oh yeah!!! I'm SO jealous.... that sounds like a really good day out. Should be very interesting and the prices don't look bad either.

Yes, there really ought to be a plaque in the oval office, saying "On this site, President so-and-so had a good bj".

I have a feeling that there would be 16 names on that plaque (the office was built in 1909.) Seriously, admit you'd do it if you had the chance!

Gugi might, I can't say, but I believe most of us here have more dignity and integrity than that!

I don't know, I suspect President Reagan, or Presidents Bush Sr. and Jr. may have declined the honors, but somehow I can stop thinking that President Kennedy has covered that part for all former and future ones

And of course, my parttaking in making such history is absolutely unthinkable - I'll never occupy the oval office, unless, of course the oil hits USD5000=RUB1/barel and the ruskis are scraping the bottom of the barrel for US president.

Are you implying that little Jon-Jon wasn't the only one smiling underneath that executive desk??

And more on topic...those ancient Romans sure had a great sense of humor. Or maybe they were actually honored by just who took a dump at their home???

Ooh doggy! Did this thread go south quickly!

And Ivan, I reread my post and I see that it may have come off as if I was suggesting that you had no dignity or integrity. What I was saying was that Nickelking doesn't know, and should not be making such a comparison!

    Oh Sorry Mark...

Guess some of us are history buffs too. We just gravitate to the seedier side

Enjoy your day, sounds like fun.
