Default Any other BodyCount fans here?

I was a fan in the 90s. BodyCount was a huge hit album when I was a teen.
I had it on cassette tape, and I bought 'Born Dead' on CD.
sometime later I found a mint 1st version of the BodyCount CD (including that song, y'know...) on a flea market for 12$ and I was STUPID enough NOT to buy it.

Last week I visited my parents and I found 'Born Dead' in my old room.
I ripped it to my laptop, and started listening it again.
The first time I thought: what was I thinking. this is crap...
But in my library it follows an alice cooper album which I listen regularly, so I listened Born Dead accidentally a couple of times.
The second time I thought: Hm, some of these songs are not bad, actually...
The third time I caught myself humming along with the entire album.
Now I have it in my car. And you know what is great about being a non-native English speaker? I can listen it with my kids in the car and not be afraid they actually understand anything of it

So I broke down and hunted down a first edition of 'BodyCount' on ebay and sniped it for only 20 euros incl shipping. I don't think this qualifies as my midlife crisis. It was not expensive enough for that

I just checked, and of the original lineup, only Ice-t and Ernie-c still live.

Yea I had almost all his albums, actually I think I still have them.

Ice-T used to play a role in SVU a few years, back, and I always thought that was funny, you know coz of Cop Killa.

Man you bring back a few memories with this thread.

The funny thing is that Ice-t now has done a 180 and says he likes the police. He admits he is a hypocrite. When he was in a gang and being a naughty boy, he hated them.
Now that he has money, stopped being a criminal, got a honest job and lives in an upper class neighborhood, he changed his opinion

I must admit that I have stayed faithful to my childhood music: Manowar, BodyCount, Rage against the machine, Faith no more, ... but also the good old eighties music.
My music is one part of me which has never really changed.

One of the best songs -which is accessible to most people is this: The winner loses

In English class in high school, we each had to bring a song and the lyrics, which we would then listen to and discuss. This song was a success with the teacher.

Maybe....but they are capable of repeating the sounds that they hear, or at least my 3 year old son does....
