    But otoh in Europe it is not allowed to let your dog inherit your multimillion dollar estate upon your death. That seems to be a US invention.
    In Europe, only legal entities (i.e. people and companies / trusts / cooperations) can own something.

    EDIT: I don't know if this is a European law, or if it is just something that the member countries did automatically. Probably the latter.
