Thread: Any Dr Who fans around??

Greetings all

I just wondered if there were any fans of Dr Who knocking around this fair realm? Does anyone outside the UK even know what I'm talking about? LOL

More importantly is anyone (other than Spike) watching the new series??????

Oh heck yeah was watchin it before you were probably born. Also in to the spinoffs like tourchwood and the new robinhood series

Yes I'm a fan and I've caught random episodes of all the last few series ... I find Saturday evening tv viewing doesn't happen for me - especially the last 2.5 years with the twins - Dr who is on at their bed time ... But just got a Sky+ box so next time the are repeated somewhere I'll get them.

We were at a convention to meet one of the old doctors one year and low and behold but the guy died at the convention. That was a strange trip.

You probably were Doc! So who was your Dr Who? I started watching it in the days of Peter Davidson, but loved Tom Baker (the one before him). So care to hazzard a guess at my age as I ommited it from my profile??

Hey Barney! Spike's small person was watching Dr Who at 3 1/2, she is now 5 and bedtime is usually postponed until after the programme as we all love watching it. We are fans of the Cybermen and Daleks, well except Davros who used to send me screaming from the room. I managed to watch last week without hiding behind a pillow though so progress has been made!

I usually ignore the season that is on and wait for the DVD's. I am looking forward to Billie Piper's return.

Torchwood is not so bad either.

Funnily enough, the guy in the Torchwood ad posted above is the new Davros!

Thought it was quite funny in the Dr Who Confidential program after the latest episode when they were on the set and the good Doctor asked him what it was like under all the rubber face and a Wallace and Gromit like voice replied "Quite Comfortable..."

Showing my age, I actually watched the very first episode with William Hartnell when it went out the first time! Watched up until Sylvester McCoy when it got a bit silly. McGann was pretty good but it was far too Hollywood for Dr Who. Been good ever since it moved to Cardiff though (My home town too) Always amusing to see them run round a corner and appear several miles away.

These days though, I think I prefer Torchwood. Think Eve Myles has something to do with that. Never a great fan of cod face Piper! (Has she had her lips done? Looks more like a cod than ever in the last couple of episodes.)

Not wanting to give anything away to our American friends who probably haven't seen the latest episode but I think Tennant will be there a bit longer. I heard he's booked for next year's Christmas Special!
