The only thing I can say is that it is better than if she had never been found.Small comfort for the children though. But at least they will be spared the haunting uncertainty.

I've been moderating in that thread today, but it wasn't me
/. is amazing sometimes
There is one guy who is gleeful about the expected results of the clash between Hans' non exsisting social skills with the federal prison life.
There is another who feels sorry for Hans, and who claims he is going to send him 20$ to make his life behind bars easier. And if we used his filesystem we should do the same. Ungrateful bastards that we are...
And then there is the guy who is convinced that Hans is innocent, and only disclosed the location of the body to get a lighter sentence because he knew it would make him look guilty at the time of the trialThat guy was convinced that the REAL story still had to come out.
And these are just examples I just read. Some of that stuff is so far out there that I couldn't come up with it if someone paid me for being extremeTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

The reality is assuming he is guilty and when he is sentenced assuming the judge will throw the book at him his only hope of getting any reduction in his sentence is to show remorse. So disclosing the location of the body is a step in that direction.

once you are in for life, your only chance is parole.
I didn't know it, but of course the penal system assumes guilt. It has to.
You can get out on parole if you show that you are no longer a threat to society, and that you have moved on.
Failure to reveal the body is insisting on innocence, which is no longer presumed.
So you are considered no yet ready to leave this behind, resulting in 'no parole'
If was really his only option by now.
Of course, if he wants to be able to get parole, he'd better work on his social skills for the next 15 years, or the parole board will not be impressed.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
