I've had more than a few moments like that.
Like when I first heard one of my favorite songs from the sixties as Muzak on--literally--an elevator.
Or the time--some of you guys won't get this, but you will if you know what it means when your dentist wants to "measure your pockets" or says he'd better do some scaling --the time I was talking with an attractive youngish woman, she flashed me a big smile, and the first thought in my mind was "nice gums."

Old man realization today: turned on Pandora and created a Creedence station. Thus far every song has been one that I've jammed to and loved. To me these are classics, not oldies.
Bad Moon Rising- CCR
The Old Man Down the Road- Fogerty
The Rover- Led Zeppelin
The Wind Cries Mary- Hendrix
Born on the Bayou- CCR
Love Me Two Times- The Doors
Twist and Shout- Beatles

My moment came when I was introduced to the dughter of a Dog training friend of mine. Now she is hot, and I can't help but admire her figure, the sad thing is her daughter is in college is ugly as sin and seems way to young for me.

Pfft! Of course they're not. If they were, you'd certainly know of them, right?

Thanked: 1587Well, I had a moment that lasted about 4 weeks.
About a month ago I was in the staff tea room with a grad student, talking through his work. I was using the first fountain pen I ever owned - a Schaeffer my father gave me in 1982 when I finished primary school. A very important pen to me, for obvious reasons.
Anyway, meeting ended, I went back to my office and got on with work. About 3 hours later, went looking for my pen and couldn't find it.
Ran in a frantic, yet dignified, way back to the tea room - no pen. Searched my office - no pen. Retraced my steps between office and tea room - no pen. Emailed my student, he hadn't picked up the pen.
Finally, in desperation I went down to the Faculty secretary and dictated an email to all staff about the missing pen - how important it was to me, how I was prepared to offer a reward for its safe return, how I was absolutely certain I had lost it in the tea room, or in the corridors between there and my office.
My fellow staff members rose to the challenge admirably - people passing me in the halls asked after the pen. Strangers would look at me sympathetically as I sat, alone, forlorn, and penless sipping my tea and trying to scratch out notes with a ballpoint.
This went on for about 4 weeks. The secretary resent, at my request, the original email at the beginning of each week.
Then, the other day as I was getting dressed for a meeting, I happened to put my hand in the inside pocket of my suit jacket. There was the pen!
The worst part was that I was wearing the jacket as I dictated the email to the secretary 4 weeks prior. It was in my pocket as I searched my office and the tea room....
