At least now I know it's sharp...
I was hand honing a 5 pound woodaxe because tomorrow I am going to clear up some wood, and cut down and strip some trees.
First I cleaned the bevels with a 230 / 320 combo, and then I polished the very edge with a hand sized belgian blue. I always lay the axe flat, and then move the hone.
My ring finger accidentally touched the edge and it immediately zipped through the flesh
But at least I know it is sharp enough
Imo: if a tool is not sharp enough to draw blood if you're not careful, then it is not sharp enough.
I know a woodaxe does not need to be as sharp as that -per se- but there is something satisfying about felling a 4 inch thick pine tree with 1 cut.
And when me and my friend were cutting off branches of a fallen 40 foot pine tree, I made better progress with my axe than he with his chain sawTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I'm really sorry... but I really really couldn't resist... for several reasons! Enjoy!

While the green circle would support your assertion, empirical data highlighted by the red arrows would seem to contradict it.
perhaps a letter to aunty Jimbo will soon be put forward to cover your alleged fear of nail trimming developed since your "accident"
I smell a cover up ! ! (callin this one WAY early)
