UFOs: REAL or NOT!
" I suppose the reason I rant, and try to pass on my opinions and lessons learned, is that I fear that I might be abducted by UFOs -then you would never know what I am about..." I am hearing this implication quoted from more people than ever before! I read the book NEED TO KNOW by Timothy Good. It tells much about UFOs, Roswell, cover-ups and contains many testimonies from credible people. I had been sceptical about UFOs, aliens, etc. before I read the book. Now I am objective in the matter. I enjoy good UFO stories. I have a neat one myself. Bring it on: ..."yellow and green pulsating lights"...

I thought I saw a UFO once when I was a kid, but now I know it was just my mind playing tricks on me.

UFO in 1980
(This UFO story is true. It has never been written about until now): Under calm starlit sky in East Texas in the spring of 1980 at approx. 2AM a rapid pulsating yellow and greenish light orbited above us in a steady pattern. It was so bright that it awakened us. We both screamed so loudly that we also awoke our todddler son asleep in his bedroom. After we regained our wits and now terror-frozen, we waited until some form of rationality returned. More later...

[\begin cynical rant] Well, if you look at the old descriptions and artist renditions folks gave in the 50's-70's, they look a whole lot like the Stealth fighters and bombers. That's no damn coincidence.
The drone fighters and surveillance craft that are in use today are probably responsible for a lot of the UFO sightings in the last 20 years.
As far as the crazy depictions by the settlers and other primitive types.... crazy superstitious hill-folk come up with a lot of crazy stories, and they believe them too. Ignorance and boredom are a potent combination. [/end cynical rant]

I believe in UFO's in that they're unidentified flying objects. It's no dream that our government is at least 20 years ahead of "current" technology. To me, there's nothing mystical about it. Our government needs to be on the cutting edge of aircraft and have it be entirely secret. Of course it's going to look alien to us. Look at the F-117 and the B2 Spirit- those are quite "alien" looking craft.
As far as any craft being piloted by anything other than humans, I'm not a believer.

UFO Story Finale
When we regained composure and logical thinking again returned, we "IDENTIFIED" the Flying Object. What happened was, that a firefly (lightning bug) landed on one of the ceiling fan blades and was strobing right over our heads! We were sheepish the rest of the night (on fresh DRY sheets)! I do believe in Aliens. If you do not-just go to Wal-Mart Stores on any Sunday! They sometimes leave traces of their visits (used diapers in the parking lot). So much for UFOs and Aliens. I am objective in this matter. After all, The Vatican has decreed that Alien Beings are creations of God. We should not fear them. We are not ordained to vote for them either! Bring 'em on...maybe they can get us out of this energy crisis! Some say that reverse engineering of previous crashes have yielded the marvelous electronic trinkets we so much love.

While I do believe it is a virtual certainty there is life on other planets, I doubt very much that any aliens, no matter how technologically advanced, will be able to overcome the insurmountable obstacles of being able to travel millions of light years to get here. I think it's just a physical impossibility (barring there being life on another planet in our solar system, which seems highly unlikely).

Thanked: 1587Well you know technically I suppose any flying thingame-bob that can't be identified is, by definition, a UFO. So sure, I believe there are UFOs - at least until someone identifies them as a weather balloon or whatever.
Actually, here in Australia we have something called the Min-Min lights that, as far as I can tell, has never been explained to a satisfactory level. More than 100 years worth of sightings apparently (Probably just 100 years worth of extremely inebriated people, but you never know.)
