OLYMPICS!!!
I can't believe no one else has posted about the Olympics yet! I watched the opening ceremonies and about 1/3 of the parade of nations.
I'm hoping they'll be streaming the fencing because that's what I'm really interested in. I also want to catch handball if I can, as I know one of the Brits.

Far too many sports that don't belong there imo.
Tennis, soccer, baseball, ...
I like things like gymnastics, martial arts, athletics, ...
The best hing is at the end of the games, when they make a compilation of all the funny, unexpected, emotional or dramatic moments.
Long time ago they used 'Search and destroy' as the background music for that compilation. That was 5 minutes of adrenalin packed awe.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I'm looking forward to watching Team USA Men's basketball. Athens left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I remember watching the Dream Team when I was in elementary school and it has always been my favorite event. I also like boxing, swimming, and taekwondo events as well.

Most, if not all, of the sports have world championships already, but it's just nice to have it all in one location with our "best" at the forefront.
US women's sabre took all three!

I remember the first time that the 'Dream team' played the olympics.
Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, ...
They absolutely stomped on the other teams. I think they won every single game with at least double the amount of points of the competitor.
Those games were truly a feast for the eyes, and I still remember some amazing dunks and alley-oops.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

NBC can bite me. No televised Judo coverage this time. If you have Vista (which I don't) you can download a program which records the events you specify so you can watch them whenever. Otherwise, you have to catch the streaming coverage when it's on.

QO, are you a fencer? Most people think it's really hard to follow without firsthand knowledge.

Yup. I figure if people can follow curling after they've never heard about it, fencing should be a cake walk
If you have any questions, I'd be glad to answer them though. My favorite weapon to compete in is foil, second is epee. I like to play with sabres, but only for fun rather than competition- I'm not a knuckle dragger (it's a fencer's inside joke).
