1. Jesus
2. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
3. Pretty much any real life person that I either know or hear of that trudges forward with grace, fortitude and resolve despite adversity. People suffering from pain, physical, emotional, mental challenges, etc. Such people humble me when I feel like complaining over trivial things or when I take for granted all that I've been given.
Chris L"Blues fallin' down like hail." Robert Johnson
"Aw, Pretty Boy, can't you show me nuthin but surrender?" Patti Smith

I got to say, that is one of the sweetest posts I have seen!
1) Marshall Will Kane. The lead character in "High Noon"! For that matter, almost any part played by Gary Cooper!
2) Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman orator! He was the champion for the Republic style of government that Rome once had! He was killed for his efforts and his head and right hand were hung above the entrance of the senate!
3) My mother, who I adopted at the age of about 21! She calls me her son that she didn't have to carry for 9 months! She literally pulled me out of the proverbial gutter and taught me how to do for myself, think for myself, how to be responsible...Lets just say that without her I would likely be dead or in jail now!
The most precious gift she gave, and gives, is her time!

1. Jesus. For the same reason as Ditch Doc, his uncompromising compassion.
2. Capt. Jame T Kirk. For his courage to do the right thing even if it meant bending the rules (and he always got the girl).
3. My Father! who gave up his dreams to give us (my siblings and I) a future.

1. The composite of several of the characters portrayed by John Wayne. Because the "sum man" wouldn't back down, he wouldn't compromise his principles and he wouldn't allow a woman to be molested.
2. 'Dirty Harry' Callahan, because he was more concerned with what is right, than what is legal. Harry had a set of principles and he wouldn't compromise them.
3. My Father. He faced much adversity growing up and became an admirable man, in spite of it.
