    Default Bjork...what're your thoughts?

So I ran across a Wired article about a video she did a year ago in 3D, and the article was telling how to build your own imax viewer. Anyway, I realized that I always hear about this woman, but never listened to her music. Being the curious person I am, I hit up youtube to hear some of the legendary Bjork. What I heard made my ears bleed! Why is everyone so caught up in her?

    Yes, that's her for sure...
Björk has some so-so songs, but also some extremely good songs.
I especially like the etherial atmosphere surrounding the songs. Music to slumber to.

If you think Björk is over-the-top, check out some movies of her husband, Matthew Barney

I guess she is an acquired taste, but she can be very good. I suspect you probably wouldn't like most of the 20th century 'classical' music either (like atonal stuff).

You wouldn't mean the Cremaster Cycle - you've got to be pretty lucky to see it. He considers his movies art objects which need to be exclusive. The same way if you want to see a particular painting or sculpture you need to go to the institution that has it at the moment...
I actually found the movies rather interesting and enjoyable, but I'm not known for going to see the blockbusters (with the exception of LOTR, I guess).

I guess, it's not so hard to find snippets from the Cremaster - here's an example

YouTube - Cremaster 2 - The Man In Black

The drummer is Dave Lombardo. Actually this is the 2nd movie which was one of the later ones, made with a huge budget and it shows (you still may want to avoid trying to find out the idea).

OK back on the subject - I have her 1st album from when she was 15 or so - old covers if you want her voice w/o the odd music

I learned to know her through her band the Sugarcubes back in the days. When i was young she released the "post" album, and since then she's been releasing some great stuff IMHO.

And yes, I was refering to the Cremaster Cycle, it's a feast for the eye.
And Dave Lombardo is one of my all-time heroes, from Slayer to Fantômas

Heck, I'd take that Cremaster stuff over hers any day. I don't like it much, but it's still better. From the videos I saw/heard, she just didn't seem to have much vocal talent.
