    Ed Wood. Funny movie.

Since this is a movie thread, I'm going to ask a movie question:

I used to watch these movies as a little kid, and from what I remember, they had very tall "robots" (I remember one of them being gold in colour). Godzilla sized robots, I guess. I think it was shot with an actor in a suit on a sound stage with miniature buildings around. This would have been quite a few years before the Power Rangers. I think they were made in Japan.

Anyway, it's just a vague memory of mine. Maybe someone knows?

I solved a similar mystery recently when I stumbed upon the intro to a cartoon I watched as a little kid. I was a big Ghostbusters fan back then and had all the toys. I would watch the cartoon The Real Ghostbusters all the time... as well as the movies. Even during that era, The Real Ghostbusters managed to block out a memory I had, because I would think to my young self, "I remember there was another Ghostbusters show I used to watch." But I couldn't place it. Turns out there was another cartoon series (based on a live action series of the same name from the seventies) I had seen! At that young age, I didn't really differentiate between the two, I guess. They were simply both shows about ghost busting....with different characters.

Anyway, when I saw this clip a few months ago, like, twenty years later, I remembered every bit of the intro! The show was made by the same company that did He-Man and She-Ra and stuff.

Hmmm. How old are these shows you guys have posted?

If they were brand new when I saw them, the ones I'm thinking of would've been from the mid 1980's or so. Wouldn't surprise me if they were older than that, though.

    Johnny Soko's from the 70's
    Robot Jox is from 1989-90
I think Ultraman started in the mid 60's but they've been putting out movies ever since.

That other ghostbusters show was awful. I've blocked out most of it but I do remember there being a ghostbusting gorilla and the bad guy was named Prime Evil.
