Thread: Paul Newman has died....

As if things weren't bad enough this week, Paul Newman has died at the age of 83, after a battle with cancer.

We have lost a consummate actor, philanthropist, humanitarian, adventurer, and champion of intellectual and individual freedoms.

One of my all time favorite actors. He had a great life it seems to me!

May I second what you have said Wirebeard, we have lost a great actor, an Americon icon and a true example of manliness. A terribly sad day.

A truly great man. Should we all be so fortunate to live a life as full and rich as his.

He filmed a picture in my hometown. Everybody loved the guy. He was accessible, fun, respectful, and considerate -- not your typical Hollywood narcissist.

Yeah, I have those Hanson moments myself. But Newman was great. Did his own skating, I believe.

Sad news. I used to run into him now and then. I actually spent a day working with Paul on a Habitat for Humanities project in Bridgeport. He had a busted flipper from a car accident (not while he was racing) but he still worked like the rest of us.

We should all eat salads to commemorate him.
