My view on abortion - it is up to the woman to decide. I can never experience a pregnancy, therefore my view is only abstract opinion.
As for the anti-abortion folks, if they are so very passionate about saving fetuses (feti?), then we can register all those against abortion, and when a woman seeks guidance for her pregnancy, if she decides she would like to terminate, then one of the people from the anti-abortion list can be randomly assigned to care for her, pay for the additional costs during the pregnancy, and then, when the child is born, the assigned anti-abortion person would be given the child under legal adoption. No allowances would be made for race, health, or origin of the pregnancy (i.e. if the woman was a victim of rape, incest, etc.).
I am sure that there would be many who would love to do that...and there would be many, many more that would not. Americans (or people in general) love to protest a wide variety of issues, but there is probably a huge disparity between those who are vocal, versus those who "put their money where their mouth is".
There was a comedian who said if men could get pregnant, abortion would probably have been added to the Constitution and there would be clinics everywhere - with pool tables, big screens TV showing the big game, bar food, foosball, hunting trophies on the wall....
...and speaking of deer in headlights, can you imagine Palin trying to address the UN? (way to segue, eh, icedog?)
