Thanked: 150Nintendo Wii
calling all wii players. I just bought one of these systems this weekend, and MY WORD, WHAT A BLAST!! Anyone have any suggestions on games? I have the sports game that came with the system, MarioKart, and Resident Evil (to be played when the my daughters have gone to bed). Any other fun games to buy? My wife loves the golf and bowling games that came with the system, so there has to be some great games out there in the genres.
For anyone thinking about getting one of these, GET IT. hours of fun, without just sitting on the couch pushing buttons.

Yup, you won't regret that one. If you're a Star Wars fan, get Star Wars: Force Unleashed. If you didn't get Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, pick that one up too. It's an on-rails shooter that's really fun, especially with a friend. If you're a Godfather fan, pick up Godfather Black Hand Edition for it. It's sort of like Grand Theft Auto, but Godfather style. If you like car racing games, pick up Need for Speed Carbon- it's the best one out so far (imho).

My son and I play Tennis, Bowling and Baseball on the stupid game disc it came with 10 times more then anything else !!!
LOVE the Wii .... Best 249.99 I have spent and we waited a long time to get it. It is still hard to get from what I hear.
Many a Saturday night we have moved the coffee table out of the family room to "Get it on" till the wee hours of the morning..... I would say the free version of Tennis is by far the most played game we have. It has you up and moving and not sitting still and vegetating on the couch playing it. I have yet to find anyone at any age tell me they regretted buying it or have bought it and don't use it.

Thanked: 1587I love the Wii because it is a game console that I can share with the wife. Wii sports is a lot of fun.
Another one that we both enjoy, if only to laugh at each other's levels of co-ordination, is Wii Dance Party. It comes with a mat and you have to hit arrows with your feet in time to the music (and shake your hands using the nunchuck and wiimote). Kinda like Guitar Hero with your feet. It is a real hoot, if you like that kind of thing.
If you are connected to the web, you can download the internet channel (Opera browser) for a little money and surf the web on your telly too. I bought a bluetooth mini keyboard and have often posted to SRP from the Wii.
Other than that, do not buy Rapala Fishing Tournament!!

I have been wanting one for a long time. Not so much to play the WII games, but to get all the old-skool games that are available for the WII for a pittance, like mega man, mike tyson's punch out, probotector, ...
I haven't been able to justify the cost yet.
