What an idiot. I have no problem with Obama but MM is known to blow things out of proportion in his narrations....and he certainly does that here.

Thanked: 1212Moore's tone is lyrical in the aforementioned letter, but to call it out of proportion... well, that's out of proportion. Using the deaths of 9/11 as an excuse to invade a country that had nothing to do with it, is a bit out of proportion. Calling upon a god, to justify the deaths of soldiers and "collateral" civilians, not because you'd really give a damn', but because you're stupid enough to think your select little group will financially benefit, that's a bit out of proportion.
Dismissing all international rules in a place called Guantanamo, that's slightly out of proportion.
I 'm glad that Bush is nearly gone.
I'm glad people like Michael Moore on occasion offer us a bit of proportion. That he makes it slightly better to digest with some irony, doesn't make the core of his statements less true.
Bart.

Lincoln was a genuis and knew how to mix and match them, how the hell he ran the country with those guys, let alone run the war is beyond me! Wether or not Obama has that kind of skill only time will tell, I just hope he gets us in the right direction, the last 2 administrations did nothing but feed the wealthy of the world. Yes that includes Bill!(Nafta/Gatt)

I like Michael Moore, but I even find the letter a little melodramatic.
I guess the new class war is going to be everyone versus the wealthy of the world, makes for good sound bites, but until the poor start employing people I wouldn't be too hard on the wealthy. Same with this Main St. vs Wall St. crap, everyone on Main St. loved it when Wall St. was giving them great returns, in fact those on Main St. kept on insisting bigger returns, they didn't care how. Then the bottom fell out, they stand there looking like the little kid who crapped his drawers and wondering why it feels bad.

If Mr. Moore produced one of his "documentaries" purporting that daylight would come tomorrow, I would emmediately go out and buy flashlights!

It just seems odd to me that Michael Moore can be quoted and yet Ralph Nader can not. I am referring to "an open letter to Obama" in the conversation. If this thread can go on why cant the other, they are mirror images of each other with Nader having a better reputation.

The very simple reason is that I mentioned in my post to the nader thread that I would not be sifting through previous threads because
a) that would be pedantic, and
b) Yesterday I was still knackered from a previous night with precious few sleep so I went to bed at 20:30
And you are right. This one is equally worthless since the first post made absolutely no mention of its purpose. SRP conversation is not a place for just posting manifestos that are guaranteed to cause trouble.
If you want to discuss, discuss, but this is not a billboard.
I'll close this one as well, though I will not give the OP a timeout, since this was posted a couple of days ago before I posted my final warning.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
