Thread: Good luck and God bless Mr. President elect!

I didn't get to see the election results as I was too busy working out of town, but wednesday morning as I got out of bed I noticed that the sky was clear, the birds were chirping and the world had not ended! I concluded that McCain had won...then I woke up...I was at home! My chickens weren't laying eggs, one of my goats was no longer giving milk and the other only gave sour milk! I concluded that Obama was elected...then I woke up...only to discover that both candidates were hand picked by the same nameless organization who's only goal is to enslave the worlds population...and then...Denmason woke up!

Barack Hussein Obama is now our President elect and will soon take office as our 44th President! I did not vote for him, but he is still my President none the less! I do not agree with many of his ideals as he has stated them, past or present, but he is still my President! I can not support many of his ideals but if his intentions are for what he believes are for the best for our country, I can support that! There is an old saying commonly heard around christmas time, "Peace on earth and goodwill to all Men" My mother insists that that is a mistranslation of the original saying! In the spirit of the "original saying" I would like to wish it to President Obama as My mother insists that it should be said, which is "Peace on earth to all Men of good will!"

President elect Obama, I pray that you are a man of good will!

I have to agree with Mark on this one too, His ideals are nowhere near mine, BUT he is the President....
Two things that I do think that stand tall in his favor in my eyes, is that he actually has lived outside the US... (gave me a better perspective of the world doing so)
And I actually think him being a "Mutt" (his words not mine, which was the first thing he said that I actually grinned at) might be an advantage in these times.....

America is a powerful nation. You know that... and often you know that and abuse that knowledge. America is a powerful economy that drives the world as she finds suited. America's leader is the most powerful leader on the planet. You know that, my american friends. When America does something evil, the world turns sour... and America finds willing enemies. You know that... better than anyone else on the planet. America is powerful enough to tackle any enemy anywhere and win any war... if the effort is enough and if the risk is taken. History has proven this. But when America is hopeful, when America is facing good ideals of Peacre and Good Will... only good can come of it.
I, as a foreign man, am witnessing something that is beautiful but scary at the same time: I see the world eager to see what Obama will do, I see americans coming together to face the hard near-future, I see racial issues drifting away, and I see hope. For all of us. But I see the spark of numb fear too. I see a new President too high on a pedestal - I see an Idol that just might have clay feet... I hope that he is all he's cracked up to be. You need that hope. But you need that action too... We do as well.
America is a great country. I cannot imagine a world without America. And that is for better of for worse... I cannot seem to understand the anti-americanism that defends the eradication of America. Even the fiercest of anti-americans, in good judgement, cannot imagine a world without the America we have grown to respect or disrespect, we have grown to love or to hate. Doesn't matter really... But we, non-americans, have the duty to urge America to unite and to be true to herself. Be free. Be respectful.

I am not a religious man and I do not believe in blessings. But I will make an exception, though: God bless the President-elect; Jehovah bless the President-elect; Allah bless the President-elect... Because he has a responsibility towards all of all gods' children.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid post or if my tone is too solemn. But I do believe that you need to be called to the arms of Peace... Go for it, America. We need that!
