That's because the needle is made for taking a chunk out of your junk! Just look up pictures. Can you tell I'm not the most needle loving person?

AIDS is a pretty complicated illness. It affects your entire body. There pretty much has to be a cure for every different type of cell you have in your body if you want to get rid of it. The HIV can be stopped within the first few days you get it, if you're lucky. If this guy was immune to it, it would have made it a lot easier to get it out of his system if he had had it longer than that. Even if it was a lucky mistake or side effect, repeating the results is a different story. And if they repeat the results, it would probably only be for those who are resistant to it anyway, which doesn't really solve the problem. Then again, I hear bone marrow is quite a versatile thing. Maybe they gained some substantial ground.

I remain cautious about celebrating too much. Reading the various posts, it seems many of you agree. The mainstream media (now firmly in the control of the entertainment divisions) have a tendency to jump the gun on these things. Drives scientists crazy.

So while we await peer review and (we hope) repetition of the results by other researchers, count me as guardedly hopeful.

For me it carries no weight really. You see these claims a lot. I have seen so many "cures" for type I Diabetes announced that I rarely even look into it when I hear another nowadays. Fact is, yes, in many cases these diseases have undergone some sort of "cure". The hard part is the aftercare. For one of the latest cures IIRC the amount of pills that you needed to take to keep the body Diabetes-free had so many debilitating effects that it just wasn't nearly worth it. Like trading one disease for another with more side-effects.
