I never read it, but my father-in-law is a comic nut and is going crazy over it. I love the preview, though I think the original teaser was best. And might I say, Silk Spectre II is HOT

Zach Snyder is the director and he did a bang up job on 300 from whence many key members of the team also hail.

Never read the book. So can't really comment other than to say it looks cool.

see, that's why i'm leery. 300 was a visual tour de force, don't get me wrong, but he added a bunch of extraneous characters and unnecessary plot elements that detracted from the original story, in my mind. he also left out some of the cooler dialogue.
since watchmen is more about dialogue than action (kinda opposite 300) i'm not sure how he's going to handle it. also, they are going to have to wholesale remove big chunks of the storyline or it's going to be a 4 hour movie. they can cut the maritime sub-story without losing too much, and maybe the newspaper stand in general (although some rorshach lines will be lost there) but i still don't think they can manage the whole thing, especially if they do dr manhattan and rorshach's backstories like they did in the book, not to mention all the historic stuff with the comedian.Last edited by jockeys; 11-22-2008 at 11:41 AM.

Thanked: 1903Speaking of "bang" and "job", here is the best review of 300 I have read so far. Man on Man Action: "It's Spartan hotties versus Persian trannies in Zack Snyder's far-too-faithful Frank Miller adaptation" - Village Voice
