    Default Can you believe this!!!

Many of you know my views on state sponsored charity. You just might not have been able to understand why I feel the way I do. After all I hail from a Very liberal town with a long history of "innovative" social solutions.

Here's an example of where this gets you. How doing what sounds good will bit your town in the butt.

    Ann Arbor News Article

Notice also how on the bottom of the first page where it states that "75% of clients are county residents" it doesn't remind you that these "clients" ( God I hate that term in this usage A Client PAYS) are HOMELESS, how can they be "residents" if they don't have one.

This is but one example of how local social engineering in this town has raised crime and made life less safe for TAX Paying property owning residents.

It seems that every government solution to a problem gives rise to 7 more problems! government expansion, ain't it grand!

That word"entitlement" is the one that bugs me!

Insane. So you have a magnate to import homeless from surrounding cities. Nice.

    Default Wow.

I would be more upset with the neighboring communities that are shirking those folks off on you guys. Sounds like the shelter in your town has no tools to deal with that issue too.

What if we sent Police to do a job and gave them no tools to do it?

If it were my town, I would be writing a letter to Detective Sgt. Jim Stephenson's Commish and tell him to stop beating around the bush with the other precincts. You guys are being taken advantage of by your own state.

Thats a great idea!! because they have recently mandated that all city buses must either be hybrids or run on biodeisel. That would kill two birds with one stone.

I'm ****ed at them for putting up the shelter, because they were told that this is exactly what would happen. They were warned. They went ahead anyway. When asked to put it to a public vote, they also claimed they didn't have to and again went right ahead and built the shelter. When public hearings were held to debate the location of the shelter the council again ran roughshod over all objections and got their way. Now they are reaping what they have sown in the form of rising crime and an exploding indigent population. Most of whom come here on their own not chauffeured here by the police in other communities.

Besides the police in those communities are serving their citizens well by cutting crime there, and serving the indigent person well by getting them somewhere they can have food and a bed. For them it's a win win and I can't blame them for taking advantage of it. They aren't committing any crime and its hard to fault them for giving a down and out "citizen" of their jurisdiction a ride to a place where he can get a leg up. Isn't that serving the public?

Sounds like someone has their hand in the till, if you ask me.

Also sounds like a good time to gear up for a CCW permit.
