What I find funny is that so many people are anti-minivan, but yet they like the cross overs, and the only difference in style is that the cross over has standard doors and the minivan has a sliding door.

you miss the point. driving a minivan is seen as subserviant and unmasculine, regardless of design.

I should add that driving a minivan in the driving world is roughly analogous to shaving with a pink bic in the world of pogonotomy.

Is the Honda Odyssey too expensive? Or is that only an Australian version? Do you guys have them in the US? Or is that what you are calling a van?

Yes the Odyssey is available in the U.S. and we'd refer to that as a minivan. The Honda and the Toyota are two of the higher priced vans in the U.S. They also have a leg up in safety over the U.S. versions since both I believe have side curtain airbags but IIRC the U.S. minivans don't at this time.

My wife has always joked that if she was a songwriter she'd pen a song titled: "Angry Man in a Minivan" since there seem to be so many aggressive emasculated men tailgating and speeding all over Suburbia in the infamous minivan.

FWIW, you can also check out the Kia Sedona for a well-priced option that also has top-notch safety ratings.

It is horrible on gas mileage though!

Sitting a foot or two higher and knowing you can drive over a curb (and maybe even a smart car) makes a difference.

I grew up in a Ford Vista Cruiser station wagon - with fake wood paneling. I see no reason whatsoever for any man to have to drive a minivan.
