    That color option is HOT!

I see the minivan as a failing of American marketing. For the longest time, all it was marketed as was "soccer mom" material. Soccer mom quickly became a resented term, but they couldn't shake the stigma. Soccer moms didn't want to be seen as soccer moms, and guys sure don't want to be seen as driving the "mom" car.

I think it's interesting how the Odessy is being marketed now.

When you grew up (and when I grew up), you didn't have to put five year olds in car seats.

Gentlemen, I think we are better off accepting that we handed in a large piece of our testicles when we got married, and just accept this. I have bought several razors off the bay lately, and my wife hasn't said a word, likely because she knows I have the following words poised on the tip of my tongue "....yes honey, and the minivan was only 800x as expensive." For those of you with 800 razors, you'll have to come up with something else.

It's not that out testicles are "handed in", they are simply placed in a large vice by our beloved!

I think the entire crossover market segment is crap. I still haven't seen one that I would prefer to a mini-van.

ya know i have never really thought of minivans as non-masculine. my grandpas has had one since they first came out with caravan and he isn't feminine. my big thing is that most minivans are wasted space. i can see them if you have kids in hockey and need the space or have a lot of kids but most of the people i know that drive one either have 2 kids or less or none at all. like my grandpa who didn't get one until all his kids were long moved out.

i know some people that claim that they feel safer in them, they sit higher and feel like they are driving a big car, and in a crash big car vs little car the bigger wins right? which is a misguided arguement meant to sell minivans.

i have a small car that has good brakes and handles much better then any minivan, plus it is pretty highly rated in the safety department. to me safety doesn't come from size and height, it comes from control. thats just me though.

now if i had lots of kids and needed the room that would be different, though i still might try to find an alternative, i really don't like driving them at all.

We had a Honda Odyssey minivan when my kids were small and it was a great vehicle.Lots of power for a v-6 engine, decent mileage, legendary honda reliability, dvd player kept the kids busy on trips.Of course it is automatic, but a really good vehicle anyway. Also consumer reports recommends Toyota Siena.

Well, at the moment you can get the Hummer H3 in Australia for 44K, which I believe is a good deal and almost on par with the Odyssey.

You'd look good in a Hummer Chris.
