I know I've had both Marmite and Vegemite but can't remember much... lol Maybe that means I wasn't the biggest fan? I think I recall liking Marmite better. I think they were both ok.

Thanked: 6As an aussie, the biggest thing i can recomend with Vegamite is spread it thin, very very thin,
I love vegamite, I've just come off a 6 month vegamite and cheese sandwich lunch binge, and still not sick of the stuff.
But yes, toast + butter + thin coating of vegamite = goooooooood

Marite is much better than vegemite. I like both but I would choose marmite over vegemite any day. Marmite is more fluid than vegemite so it works well for mixing with butter - my favourite way to eat it is mixed with butter or cheese spread.(on bread of course!)

Thanked: 1587I have no problem with any of the yeast extract variants, although Vegemite is the one I grew up with and favour.
Some vegemite tips:
1. How not to eat vegemite. The problem here is that these girls are attempting as their (presumably) first vegemite experience what only experienced vegemite eaters with years of practice do. Note the blanket covering of the toast. Big no-no first time. This is the equivalent of attempting to shave like Willi Heusser (of wow...Amazing video fame) on your first straight shave. Warning: video contains some expletives :
YouTube - American Girls Try Vegemite
2. First timers need to spread it *thin* - thin, as in "I can see my toast through the vegemite" thin.
3. There are many ways to eat vegemite - we actually have a census in Australia:
YouTube - How do you like your Vegemite?
Enjoy your vegemite in good health gentlemen.
