HA! I saw his response to reporters later was something along the lines of "all I can report was that it was a size 10". At least he's got a sense of humor about being loathed.

A lot of people were taken aback by how adeptly Bush dodged that shoe.
People have short memories... Bush was always good at ducking 'his shoes'.
(I think I pulled a hamstring that pun was so strained.)

Funny what none of the reporters have mentioned is the symbolism of that. In many West Asian cultures, shoes (IIRC because they contact the ground, are made from dead animals, and are the lowest part of the body) are considered "unclean"; one step above excrement, really. Just a whole cluster of negative things. You could think of that as basically an extreme insult.

Only poorly managed banks will fail. Those banks that weren't complete idiots are doing just fine.
