Thanked: 3795Those of us who live in areas where cold weather is a given would never dream of over-diluting anti-freeze. I suspect block freezing occurs much more frequently in areas of the country where any kind of freezing is unusual so little attention is paid to anti-freeze concentration.
On the very dim bright side, Sinnfein, I suspect that this will be the last frozen block that you will ever see in your life! Good luck with the repairs.

yea it should be the last, just like last time it was the last accident lol. and you know what i spent almost all of my driving life living up north and never had any problems driving in ice or freezing engines then i move more south and i get in an accident by sliding on ice in TEXAS and my engine freezed in tenn. go figure

Just thought I'd share a little unhelpful bit of car trivia;
Those "freeze plugs" aren't. they are just a piece of press fit steel pushed into the holes left in the cast block so that they can drain the sand from the casting process out. Past that they actually have no purpose whatsoever.
