Thanked: 586Basil Has a New Friend
Last night the woman behind me on line in the supermarket commented about the four bags of charcoal briquets in my cart. A very nice conversation ensued which became almost completely about my dog and her roosters. I told her about Basiland introduced myself as I handed her my card so she could visit my website. She told me her name was Lorraine. She was very interested in Basil, his pet therapy work, his weight pulling achievements and hiis relationship with Mr. Toes. When I told her Basil was out in the car, Lorraine insisted on meeting him. Outside in the parking lot, as she pet and played with Basil, a woman walked up and said, "I'm sorry to interrupt, I just want to thank you for all the work you've done. You saved my life."
It was obvious that Lorraine was someone special but I didn't want to appear too ignorant. I said, "Please forgive me for prying. What field are you in?"
"Parapsychology." She said.
Immediately I knew who she was. "Are you Lorraine Warren?"
"Yes, that's me." And she shook my hand.
Does anyone have any knowledge of the Warrens and the work they've done? Here are a few links:

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with the paranormal?

Here's your chance to make a $100,000 finder's fee! That's just 10% of the prize money when she passes James Randi's Million Dollar Challenge. Challenge Info
I follow this line of thinking: parapsychology

Thanked: 77What did Basil have to say about her? Better yet I'd like to get Mr. Toes' opinion (cats are a bit more discriminating).

I don't put any stock into it. I do believe in angelic beings (including "demons"), but I also believe that communication with them is impossible from our end. I feel that we can see them occasionally, but it's almost as if we aren't supposed to. Almost everyone who has an "experience" says that as soon as they acknowledged the spirit (or whatever they call it), it disappeared.
As far as hauntings are concerned, I don't believe in them from the standpoint that it's an old tenant or a person that was murdered there, etc. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was just a form of cosmic humor
