ok. So that's going to be a halftime commercial, right? Best Ford commercial I've ever seen, even if it wasn't a real commercial!

Have you never seen Top Gear? If you like cars at all, punch it into YouTube. Jeremy Clarkson is a nut of a vehicle tester. I'd get expanded cable just to see his show!

I've seen Top Gear. I just think that's screaming to be a Superbowl halftime commercial. It was quite literally the best Ford commercial I've seen, even if it wasn't a real commercial. I liked every minute of it! "The smoke grenades fit right into the cup holders!"

Don't have a car but I've seen every single episode of every season so far.

I'm a huge Top Gear fan as well. The military themed tests are usually some of the best. I particularly liked the one where they drove the Boxter through an abandoned village while a dug in group (company, maybe?) of marines or some such shot up the car with paintball guns. Talk about a handling test.

They are actually using the same kit they use on exercises, with real weapons, laser vests and blanks.

I love Top Gear - I know loads of people that couldn't give a monkeys about cars, but watch Top Gear every week for the humour.

The recent Vietnam special was so funny!

This was part of an episode of Top Gear a couple of weeks ago. I think the premise was that some sad pedant had written into the show bemoaning the fact that they never did proper, robust reviews and test drives anymore. It is always about shooting caravans with projectile cars, or taking it around their track on an airstrip driven by the Stig etc.

So Clarkson decided to put the new Fiesta through a 'robust' test in response to the viewer's complaint. It was great comedy. Top Gear has great pull on everything -- they somehow manage to persuade normally right-thinking people to let them do insane stuff. In this case they persuaded the Marines to let them join them on an exercise with a Fiesta.

EDIT: and it's not just for car enthusiasts. I couldn't care less about cars (I own a Ford Focus, for goodness sake!), but my wife and I usually try to watch Top Gear when it's on.

Jeremy Clarkson is a big supporter of the armed forces, doing charity work and the like, so he does tend to have good luck getting them on-board
