Sorry. My apologies.
This was reported here on the news, but it was said the effigies needed to be removed.
Just goes to show you shouldn't take the news for granted.
The 'fire' and 'topics that can land you in trouble' part of my argument still holds true, but I really should have checked it first.
Again, sorry for that.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

It isn't your fault the news only reports what is most interesting! It's interesting that there are effigies that get the attention of authorities. It is uninteresting that the authorities later decide it is nothing they need to take further action on
PS If you yell fire in a crowded theater, you are not speaking, you are yelling. Please don't confuse freedom of speech with freedom of screaming, there is a difference!

That's because it's extremely scary! I had my local police severely overstep their bounds on myself, SWMBO, and some friends. They were clearly in the wrong, but it took a good 1.5-2 hours of not backing down before they left us alone. Talk about the jitters! Poor SWMBO was crying her face out.

That's the truth. They've been pulling similar stunts increasingly for the last couple years, and as far as I know, we're one of few that actually stood our ground. It really makes you feel great when you see repeated stop sign/red light blowing and the police don't do anything, or a speed trap in a place where it doesn't really matter.
^I also count that as freedom of speech. To be able to severely dislike your police force and not worry about it. Try that in Mexico...
