    Default Stimulus Plan

So in the end, not one Republican voted in support of the stimulus plan in the House. Looks like Rush Limbaugh successfully intimidated the Republicans from exhibiting even a scintilla of bipartisanship on this one...(ie Phil Gringrey)

Perhaps you missed Gringrey's mea culpa, when he bows down to Limbaugh over an earlier statement he made. Reminded me of a scene from The Godfather.

I'm glad to see that Republicans have a true bipartisan position other than rollover and play dead to the Disaster Plan

Yes, but some people are at least trying to offer answers.

maybe they just thought it was a bad idea. there were a handful of dems that didn't vote for it, and nobody's accusing them of being influenced by that idiot limbaugh.

Just think. If it passes I can see it now. All that money going to "shovel ready jobs" Once it passes to the local levels and the politicians give the contracts to the crooks and their contributors and organized crime gets involved. They'll hire a few people at basic wages and all their friends and relatives in no show jobs at huge salaries using shoddy materials. Some people will become millionaires from this. Just another rip off on the taxpayer.

Not sure I understand what you are saying. I heard a conservative economist the other night say that there are $65 trillion in total assets out there. Out of that $65 trillion, only $5 trillion are "bad" and it would take 24 months for those bad assets to work through the economy. He said all these bailouts and stimulus packages would just prolong things and cause serious inflation down the road. It sort of made sense to me because I lived through the inflation of the 70's and early 80's and that was caused by government spending money it didn't have. The same thing is happening now. So, to me, those that are offering "answers" in the way of "stimulus" disguised as pork are really offering more problems, not answers.
