    Default (Promotional) Man's EZine

    Hi Guys,

I'm hoping that this one promotional post doesn't send me to the hall of shame, however I think it's worth the risk. I'd like to tell you guys about Home | (website doen't display the URL is EveryGuys . com) and ask that you take a look at it. This is a fledgling website that is hoping to carve a niche for itself as a quality men's publication.

Yes, I have a stake in increasing its traffic, as the owner gave me my first paying writing job. I have written some (admittedly poor) articles about straight shaving and am hoping that I may entice members here to read EG and EG readers to expose themselves to straight shaving.

Anyway, right now it's still being built but give it a look see. Any feedback on my articles (Shannon Groves) would be greatly appreciated, as well as any potential relationships questions.

One note, occasionally some of the articles are NSFW, but there is no pornography (threw that in, our B&B brethren gave me an earful when I brought EG to their attention).

Since there was no feedback, I'm assuming a lack of interest. This will then be my last post. Would a $20 C&E gift card be incentive enough to enter a contest on EG? or is that just not enough?

I hope this is a good enough carrot as my boss just approved a $20 gift certificate to C&E for a contest look for the latest edition of "The Project" and then supply your response.

To be honest, it looks like a less refined version of AskMen.com. It's an interesting concept, but it feels like a website made by the people that do TV advertising. What I mean by that is that these types say that men are dumb creatures, interested in the 3 B's- boobs, beer, and balls (as in sports). That's definitely all I see on the website. It's not as well put together as it needs to be in order to be competitive, and as dumb as a bunch of guys may be, flashing some skin and footballs at them won't be enough to drive traffic. It's for this reason that you probably aren't getting any feedback from everyone here. For a great visual of what I mean, peruse some of the Shave of the Day threads, and pay attention to the posts from people like Glen, aka gssixgun. You'll notice several things- fine instruments, attention to detail, refined images. Directly compare this to the overall visual feel of EG.

Another issue is the "possibly NSFW" content. I wouldn't really be comfortable viewing it around anyone to be honest. It looks like a homebrew "dude" website. Compare that to askmen.com again, and I wouldn't have any issues pulling that up at work. It just has to do with design.

This isn't anything against you or the owner of the website, just an honest opinion.

Friday Fox? Perhaps Butter Face would be more accurate.
