That's just rough. Yup, I know the meaning of the word arid, and many other wonderful, yet often unused words. You can imagine the conversations that ensue over our games of scrabble. Good luck, especially if you win the poll:D

Arid is a great word that I believe many people know. Now, if you said sesquipedalian I would have to agree with her.:D...Look it up!
Such a picayune matter anyhow Matt.;):D
The desert is an arid location.

Pretty common word around here... of course we live in what technically qualifies as a desert. And what else would you use to describe hot and dry?
...Although now that I think of it, why do I associate arid with hot and dry? haha, so maybe I don't actually know what it means :). How should you vote if you know the word but sort of misuse it?
Actually its rather superfluous nonsense don't you think Matt!:w
Thirty or so years ago my wife and I were at the in-laws. They had a set of encyclopedias and the wife and I got into a disagreement about one topic or another. I really don't recall now what it was.
I went to the set of encyclopedias and looked it up. I read the article to her proving I was right and without hesitation she told me that the encyclopedia was wrong. How do you argue with that ?
