    Well said!

Fragrance does not make a gentleman. That which is within him gives him the right to call himself a gentleman.

For years I had one aftershave, Woods of Windsor. Today, I have at least a dozen aftershaves, and use them all. Why? Because I like lovely fragrances as I like lovely women.

The great Mozart put it this way: "I pay no attention whatever to anybody's praise or blame. I simply follow my own feelings."

The great Ludwig Van Beethoven put it another way:

Ludwig and his brother Johann, a businessman, did not get along. One New Year's Day, when Johann had bought a piece of land, he sent the great Ludwig a card and signed it: "Johann Van Beethoven, landowner." The great Ludwig crossed off his brother's name and returned the card, signed: "Ludwig Van Beethoven, brain owner."

So you see gentlemen, whether you own only Pinaud's Clubman or two dozen aftershaves and colognes worthy of Beau Brummell, the greatest dandy of all, give yourself a splash and smile.

    Regards,

    Obie

I have one tube of shaving cream that was given to me. (Thanks Dylan) and I use one aftershave. It's the same one my Dad used. Aqua-Velva. That's it for me. I usually find something that works for me and stick with it.

Revived from the dead again huh? Must be all the Jesus and Christian threads around lately that brought this thread back from the dead.

I think it is not a question of manliness, but rather how you want to treat yourself.

I have 2 brushes, 2 DE's, 2 after shaves (i keep those pairs at work). Few straights and 1 strop. That is all i need, and it is no use to try to make this face look anything else that it is. Mission impossible. To me it's ok to show my age in my face.

Had i dozens of personal care products, my wife would probably laugh me out of the house.
I have no problem with what other people use. It is strictly up to their personal opinions.

I have too little fashion sense (read, none, just ask my wife) and I;m far too ugly to be considered a dandy. Therefor, I feel I can get away with anything I want to slap on my face.

    You?

Sometimes my wife will grab my cologne and spray me cause she wants me to spell "extra" nice. And all I wear generally is deodorant.
