Bobby Jindal
In light of all those who during the last election thought it was so important to highlight Barack Obama's middle name (even though the middle names of the Republican candidates didn't seem to be nearly as important) I wonder, if Bobby Jindal runs in 2012, whether those same folks will think its important to note his parents named him "Piyush", not Bobby or Robert.

I don't know about the middle name thing, but I do get a kick out of the visual of seeing an Indian guy speak with that accent.

I'm sure they will, though it's not really apples and apples. Hussein carries different connotations than Piyush does. I think of tech support, not a genocidal dictator

That was kinda my point--opponents of Obama had no real reason to cite his middle name other than because they believed it would cost him support from those who were willing to entertain the notion he was a closet Muslim, a la The Manchurian Candidate. That's why no one mentioned Fred Thompson's middle name (Dale) or John McCain's (Sidney). So I doubt you'll see much reference to "Piyush" since it doesn't connote the same type of fear-mongering analogy.

Before we talk about Barack Hussein Obama, and who he really is I suggest we look at this video
Unusual Suspect
BTW Piyush in India has the same connotation as Bubba does in the US. It is cruel to name your children Piyush.Last edited by Amyn; 03-03-2009 at 08:32 PM.

Well, like his daddy told him, Americans can do anything- including change your name from Bubba to Robert.
